In synastry, is it possible for there to be a conjunction between two planets of DIFFERENT signs?

I did a compatibility ysis, and it revealed that we have a Venus Conjunct Pluto aspect. I have a Venus in Virgo. He has a Venus in Aquarius. And we BOTH have Pluto in Scorpio. Is this aspect even possible between us? What does Venus Conjunct Pluto signify anyway--is it positive or negative? Thanks!
