Is excluding the Pledge of Allegiance for a school day illegal?

I was deeply offended by my school for excluding the Pledge of Allegiance and the Texas Pledge. Is this illegal? There were no problems with the loudspeakers. Everyone was waiting for the announcements of the day, but nothing happened. No major testing such as TAKS retaking was occurring.
