My dog doesn't seem aware that her paws don't belong in my face?

I have a American Staffordshire Terrier, it almost seems she is italian with all of her paw gestures. She is somewhat grabby with her paws, She tends to kick and grab she scratched me right under my eye the other day mistakenly. What can I do to make my dog more aware of where her paws? I like to play with her and her paws I just don't want to be scratched by them I'm afraid of her getting my eye.
